HOT ROUX, a Louisiana Cajun Blues Band

COME DANCE WITH US AT CLUB 507 in Newhall!

We’ve got Drummer, Jerry McWorter serving up spicy Lou’siana Blues mixed with swampy Rock n’ Roll for this SWINGIN’ (SOULFUL) SUNDAY at CLUB 507. We requested Jerry bring his band back for our dancers’ fun!

In Louisiana parlance, a “roux” is a base sauce made of spices, flour and butter. These musicians serve up a tangy smorgasbord of straight blues to rockabilly with a generous side of swampy Cajun flavors mixed in their rock ‘n roll. We hope you’ll give this great group of musicians an opportunity at CLUB 507!

We’ve had plenty of complementary lessons before our bands — but this time we’re going to provide some tips and instruction for Swing Dancers to use with bands who come to us with some blues tempos. It’ll be so much fun! There’ll be a couple surprise guest instuctors — Blues Dancers you’ve seen around town.

Band Members:
Jerry McWorter, Drums
Brent Harding, Guitar
Ed Berghoff, Guitar
Sam Bolle, Bass

CLUB 507 is becoming one of the most welcoming social places in the Santa Clarita Valley, thanks to the American Legion Post 507, and to the people who come to share the fun and love of live music and dance.

About the Venue: Club 507 Newhall

Newhall’s Old Town District gets a New Dance Venue!

A former 1940s movie house, the current American Legion Post 507 is home to the Santa Clarita Valley’s newest hotspot for live music and dancing.

The historic building shares the parking lot at the Old Town Newhall Library at Railroad and Lyons Avenues in Old Town Newhall. Here, the New Club 507 hosts a lively mix of Blues Jams, classic Rock ‘n Roll groups, Big Bands, and Rockabilly bands all playing danceable favorites. Free dance classes are often provided to help beginners and advanced dancers keep busy on the dance floor.

The New Club 507 has free parking, a full bar, ample table seating, catered food offerings and a super-friendly crowd of music lovers and dancers.

The New Club 507 is located adjacent to the Newhall main library building in Old Town Newhall at 24527 Spruce Street (at 11th Street). Take Lyons Avenue east from the I-5 or Newhall Avenue then Railroad Avenue from the 14 Freeway.
