Petunia and the Vipers play original music combining elements of classic 1920s jazz through 70s country, country blues, western swing, alt country rock, Mexicana, French cabaret, Romanian, ragtime, jazz, punk and folk music. (And they do a few classic covers as well!)
With his swingin’ synchopation that’s reminiscent of the music from nearly 100 years ago, Petunia is a restless wanderer, a musical historian, and a quirky yet amazing talent.
It’s a new music that springboards off the music of the past – somewhere between the 1920s and modern steam punk.
Petunia joins the greats from north of the 49th for his classic style and raucous performances. He is simply a Canadian treasure. (Call it Canadiana?)
PLUS: See the return of Lil’ Sue & The Cowtippers as they perform retro honky tonk with both originals and covers.
