Starting Sunday September 11th from 2 to 4 PM, Dance and Delight in the music and glamour of Old Hollywood at Historic Post 43, where stars like Clark Gable, Micky Rooney, Gene Autry and others rubbed elbows.
This ‘Historic Band in An Historic Place’ Series features The Big Band Alumni and vocalists Bill A Jones and Nancy Osborne every 2nd Sunday of the Month from 2 to 4 PM.  A West Coast counterpoint to New Orleans’ Preservation Hall, this unique showcase of Big Band Jazz, Swing and Classic Vocal Pop Standards harks back to famous LA nightspots such as The Coconut Grove, Ciro’s, and The Mocambo, and will become a must see for visitors to LA, as well as a magnet for local swing dancers and music lovers.
The Historic 1929 Hollywood American Legion Post 43 is just 2 doors South of The Hollywood Bowl, and just up the street from the tourist center of Hollywood & Highland.  The Big Band Alumni was formed in 1999 by members of the original Big Bands, such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Woody Herman, Les Brown, and Count Basie; and over the years has played The Academy Awards Governors Ball, The Reagan Library, and opened for Tony Bennett.
