About the Venue: The Barkley

The Barkley is a neighborhood restaurant in South Pasadena which recently started having some very good bands to Swing dance to.  Some people remarked that it feels kind of like a “slightly upscale Joe’s Bar”, which is a pretty good description.  The food is reasonably priced, mostly American.

The wooden dance floor is not huge but holds about 10 couples doing Balboa.

The Barkley regularly hosts dancer-favorite bands like Dave Stuckey and the Hot House Gang, and the Big Butter Jazz Band. With such good music, the turnout of Swing dancers is often surprisingly good, but bring your own partner to be safe. Dancers usually show up during the second set (around 10PM)

The bands start between 9 and 10 PM and usually go till 1 AM, so you could even hit up PBDA first, and then come here for late-night dancing.
