Happy Feet Mondays

Monday features mostly faster Bal / Shag music from the 20’s and 30’s. Lorenzo’s “Happy Feet Mondays” has some of the best gypsy jazz bands and Bal dancers around. No cover, but two drink minimum and donation requested for the band.

Always plenty of people to dance with. Lots of Swing dance regulars. Not to be missed!

Swing Tuesdays

Tuesdays also has Swing dancing with live bands playing more 40’s and 50’s style music suitable for Lindy. No cover but there is a two-drink minimum (non-alcoholic drinks are fine)

There is an intermediate lesson at 8PM and a beginner lesson at 8:30PM. The class is usually taught by Danielle O’Neal/(Danielle Deborah on FB) from the Fred Astaire Studio in Pasadena. On the rare case she’s out of town, Minn Vo usually fills in, but it always happens. Cost of class is $5.

DJ Nate spins danceable tunes in-between the band sets. Dancing goes late, until 1:30 to 1:45 AM! This is another great Swing event not to be missed!

Thursdays

Joe’s occasionally has Swing bands on Thursday nights. Check the Lindy Calendar to be sure.

General Info

Free street parking, mid-size dance floor, food til 10pm. Admission is free but there is a 2 drink / $6 minimum plus donation to band. Please abide by this and buy something in order to keep live Swing music happening here! Joe’s Bar has been a great venue for Swing dancers! – Brian
